A Rehearsed Reading of HEAVEN by Colette Cullen.
HEAVEN charts the aftermath of the break-up of Rachel and Fiona’s relationship asking if there’s a way back once trust is gone. A standalone but follow-up play to WHEN RACHEL MET FIONA described as ‘an exquisite piece that explores a relationship over time with subtext, humour and realism.’ It is the second of a loose trilogy of plays following Rachel and Fiona through their romantic relationship.
Rachel and Fiona are married with three children. Rachel cheats on Fiona and they divorce. Devastated Fiona slowly rebuilds her life. Meanwhile Rachel’s life begins to unravel. With Fiona’s help she starts to get it back on track again. Realising how much she’s lost Rachel begs Fiona to give their relationship another chance but Fiona is reluctant to make herself that vulnerable again.
The script was a shortlist (Honorable Mention) ‘Epiphanies New Works Festival 2022’ Wild Imaginings, Waco TX and is a shortlist ‘Gary Marshall Theatre New Works Festival 2022’ Burbank CA.
