New Writing Development Week

NoStay2Short by Celia de Fréine as part of The New Writing Week at The New Theatre

Sunday December 11th at 7pm.

Free but booking essential.

Directed by Bairbre Ní Chaoimh

Dermot Danaher, corrupt business man, is dead and Dan O’Brien, private investigator, has assembled the deceased’s close relatives: Norbert, his son, Bianca, his second wife, and Cindy, the daughter none of the family has met before. Dan’s reason for earlier crashing the funeral service was to reveal family secrets that will impact the lives of those present. He is driven by revenge but, in order to achieve his aim, he must depend on Cindy.

Should he achieve what he sets out to do, her circumstances will improve; crimes committed by Dermot, his first wife and Norbert will be exposed. As the play enfolds, however, we begin to doubt Dan’s credibility. Will Cindy act on his suggestions or will she refuse to be manipulated?

NoStay2Short explores many of the challenges faced by those trying to make sense of today’s world.
