A story about a couple whose relationship is in trouble but not yet past the point of rescue.
Can Mick save it or will Dolly’s shocking revelation be the final nail in the coffin.
Dolly and Mick is a funny, engaging story with a poignant denouement and several well-known songs, performed live, that echo the love and hope, disillusion and despair, passion and perseverance that colours their relationship.
Dolly and Mick are arguing as they drive home from a gig. He is a widower from Limerick, she is a divorcee from Arkansas. Their relationship is clearly in trouble. But Dolly tells us that “It wasn’t always like this.” And so, they tell us how it actually was. From their hilarious meeting at the Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking festival, through their first kiss, onto Dolly’s funny, unnerving meeting with Mick’s family and on to her final shocking revelation that threatens to rent them asunder, unless Mick can find a way to save the day.
