Schola Hyberniae invite you to an evening of ancient chant, reviving haunting melodies that weave tales of life and death, the miraculous and the supernatural, heaven and hell. Drawing from the rich tradition of Gregorian chant and ancient Irish manuscripts, this performance brings our vibrant Irish cultural heritage to vivid life.
As these seldom-heard sounds envelop you, you will be invited to add your own sound by participating in the drone - a unique interaction, layering a mystical depth to the evening and creating a truly communal experience. The chants will include music from the rites of the dead and a rare presentation of chant from Irish manuscripts housed in Trinity College, Dublin - Bram Stoker’s alma mater.
Featuring exquisite, rare and hypnotic chants that reference the afterlife and the spiritual realm, this performance is rooted in the mystical soil of Ireland’s past.
