October 17th marks the first public screening of Bog Standard. The short documentary focuses on community-led bog restoration projects and the custodians who have extraordinary stories to tell. The film draws on the commitment and hope of grassroot projects happening in Ireland around peatland conservation.
Our objective is that these conversations will inspire and educate our future decision-makers and the wider community about the importance of preserving Ireland's bog and rich heritage.
Bog Standard, born within the Climate Ambassador Programme 2021 responds to the need for awareness of peatlands in Ireland and their central role within the climate emergency.
The screening will be followed by a panel discussion with a number of contributors to Bog Standard. The conversation will look to highlight community engagement, alongside the practical steps in getting involved with peatland restoration.
Ticket sales from the event will be donated directly to the Irish Peatland Conservation Council.
