Carlow Arts Festival is delighted to announce a Virtual Reality strand at this years festival. We’ve teamed up with Camille Donegan of Virtual Reality Ireland, to curate a line-up of Virtual Reality films featuring the best in homegrown and international talent. The VR Cinema will feature a series of VR films from animation to empathy-building documentaries with content for all the family shown on Oculus Go headsets. Films include: 4 Feet: Blind Date – featuring an 18 year old disabled girl anxious to explore her sexuality, and Sanctuaries of Silence – a charming VR doc about the silence of the forest amidst the noise of our lives. Irish work in the strand includes BBC’s 1943: Berlin Blitz from Immersive VR Education in Waterford.
