The live debut of renowned artist turned songwriter David Rooney.
Acclaimed artist and illustrator David Rooney has been turning his talent to songwriting.Produced by Declan O’Rourke, songs from his forthcoming album will get their debut performance on PalFest’s launch night, accompanied by the the full band of superb musicians from the recording sessions.
Conor Guilfoyle on drums, Jay Wilson on piano, Baz Rycraft on bass and Ruba Shamshoum on vocals.

Ruba’s songs are a blend of jazz harmonies and Middle Eastern influences, with vocals that are influenced by Billie Holiday, Edith Piaf, and Norah jones amongst others. Her lyrics which are mostly in Arabic, her mother tongue, deal with her perspective on life, being far away from home, and is wrapped with the the element of story telling. Ruba will be joined by great musicians from the jazz scene in Dublin, Orlando Molina on guitar, Matthew Jacobson on drums, Aleka Potinga on cello and Barry Rycraft on double bass.
