There are few artists in Poland who would be so often invited to perform internationally, there are few genres of music whose representative would overcome boundaries so easily and whose work is understood practically in every place around the world. Sold out concerts, a standing ovation, the rave reviews it looks like tour promoting the album "Polka”. Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet is the first for many years a jazz band whose music inspires so many Poles. Playing 60 concerts in Polish cities WMQ each proves to be a phenomenon of Polish music scene. A record crowd gathered in Warsaw concert on Jazz na Starówce Festival where he listened to music quintet approximately 5000 people!
Wojtek Mazolewski is a Polish jazzman of the premier kind – one the one hand drawing on the classic sound and recording techniques, a musical heir of the internationally appreciated classics of Polish jazz; on the other, an artist creating music which is fresh, comprehensible for the young audience who listen to new stuff, who know and taste jazz with such artists as Koop, Brad Mehldau, or Robert Glasper Experiment.
Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet, is the first jazz band which reached the Charts of The Third Program of Polish Radio, where the song "Newcomer" linger in the charts for a few weeks.
The Band received the CD music award Of the Third Polish Radio "Mateusze 2011". It was, however, only the prologue to the subsequent successes of the Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet. The band release album another album, "Wojtek in Czechoslovakia”. In the list of hits of the Third Polish Radio were as much as three compositions, which together occupied it by 41 weeks. The song "Nionio" became a favorite of radio DJs
One year ago saw the release of the latest album by Wojtek Mazolewski Quintet - Polka – it is not only a tribute to femininity but also an emotion-laden hour of brilliant sound, beautiful melodies and virtuosity. It took the record mere days to win recognition of the audience and the critics. In her review published on Onet.pl, Katarzyna Paluch wrote: “To write about Mazolewski’s quintet that everything sounds splendid, that it’s thoroughly well-arranged and excellently performed is nothing short of trite. But what to do when this is exactly the case?”.
The band played in France, Germany, Hungary, Czech Republick, Turkey (Istanbul Jazz Festival) and India (Delhi Jazz Festival). Also performed on the largest Polish festivals such as the Festival Opener and Off Festival. CLICK HERE FOR TICKETS
